Electronic grade lab grown kish graphite.
Kish graphite has been lab synthesized using molten iron-carbide cooling process to realize electronic and optical grade Kish graphite. Usually Kish graphite is a natural by-product of stainless steel process and small graphite flakes are usually collected from cooled off iron surface. This process is not aimed to produce graphite but instead focus is on production of iron with carbon impurities. Thus regular kish graphite is only 85% pure or contains 15% impurities.
Our Kish graphite is electronic and optical grade which is grown by iron foil cooling process by passing semiconductor grade methane and ethane mixture to solve carbon into thick iron foils and cool off carefully to yield high quality kish graphite pieces see images. These crystals range from mm to maximum 4 mm in size and exhibit high purity (99.99% or higher) and crystallinity (perfect vdW structure and easy easy to exfoliate compared to HOPG).
