Description
Perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid tetrapotassium salt (PTAS) is a nucleation promotor commonly used for 2D material growth. PTAS commonly used in teh field as a nucleation promoter for wafer scale synthesis of broad range of 2D materials such as MoS2, MoSe2, WS2, WSe2, ReS2, ReSe2, PtS2, PtSe2, SnS2, and SnSe2. Our PTAS liquid comes at 2mM concentration and we advise our customers to further dilute PTAS by simp;y adding high purity water to produce larger quantities. Commonly used parameters call for 10 microMolar PTAS solution for MoS2, MoSe2, WS2, and WSe2 monolayers. The solution is intentionally packaged in 2mL bottle in liquid form at 2mM concentration to make ~200mL to 2L of solution. Thus, 2 mL bottle should be diluted to 200mL (using DI water) to grow CVD MoS2, MoSe2, WS2, and WSe2 monolayers. This polymer has been synthesized at our facilities from perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTC-DA) and the final product has been purified and filtered x7 times to reach 99.997% purity. We recommend our customers to treat their substrates using Piranha solution and / or plasma treatment cleaning process to prepare surfaces for PTAS functionalization prior to CVD growth.
